raise carried to market

$5M

The brief

The client - a post-quantum, quantum-secure encryption company whose name stays confidential - builds technology that matters enormously and explains itself terribly. When I came in through Polaris Partner Group, the company was heading toward a raise with a brand that read like a research paper: dense, technical, and invisible to the buyers and investors who needed to understand it in thirty seconds.

As creative director on a year-long engagement, I led the rebrand and digital overhaul - brand system, messaging architecture, website, and launch assets - working alongside the go-to-market lead who owned the commercial motion.

The narrative spine

The unlock wasn’t visual; it was narrative. Post-quantum cryptography pitches itself with math, and math doesn’t raise rounds. We inverted the story: lead with the deadline - the approaching moment when quantum computing breaks today’s encryption and every secret stored now becomes readable later. Suddenly the category explains itself: this is the company you hire before that day, not after.

Every asset hung off that spine. The website’s first screen, the pitch materials, the sales narrative, the launch films - one story, told at whatever depth the audience could hold, from board room to engineering deep-dive.

The system

A year of creative direction produced the full stack: a rebuilt identity and visual language that made deep-tech credibility legible at a glance; a messaging architecture that translated cryptographic claims into business risk a CFO can act on; a new website; and the launch asset library - brand film, motion pieces, sales materials - that carried the company into market conversations. (The brand animation lives in the Director’s Cut section of this site.)

Deep-tech branding has a specific trap: dumb it down and you lose the technical buyer; keep it dense and you lose everyone else. The system was engineered for both readers at once - plain-spoken claims on the surface, rigor one click down.

Results

  • Full brand system, messaging architecture, website, and launch assets delivered
  • A repeatable, plain-language sales narrative for a deeply technical founding team
  • Brand and story carried the company to market alongside its $5M raise

Selected brand-system boards and website screens are being added to this page.

The journey

  1. The problem

A research paper wearing a logo

World-class post-quantum encryption technology, presented in language only cryptographers could parse - heading into a raise where investors and buyers needed to get it in thirty seconds.

  2. The spine

    Lead with the deadline

The narrative move that unlocked everything: stop leading with the math, start leading with the moment today's encryption breaks - and position the company as the one you hire before that day.

  3. The system

    A full brand rebuild

Identity, visual system, messaging architecture, website, and launch assets - a year of creative direction turning deep technology into a brand that reads instantly.

  4. The outcome

    To market, funded

The rebrand carried the company into investor and customer conversations alongside its $5M raise.
