The brief
Korboard makes exactly one hero product: a patented, bamboo full-body training board - 100+ exercises, any time, any place, $379. Behind it: a three-person team with deep product conviction and zero spare hours. They didn’t need a strategy deck. They needed someone to own the growth stack end to end - strategy and hands-on execution, media and storefront, brand and systems.
That’s the engagement. As retained growth consultant I run marketing, advertising, and the digital systems for the whole business.
Rebuilding the storefront
The first big swing was the website. The old storefront undersold a genuinely physical, premium product. I redesigned korboard.com from the ground up on Shopify: a dark, athletic, product-first experience where the board is the hero - configure-and-add-to-cart above the fold, “$40 flat shipping · in stock” answering objections before they form, and an exercise library, training app, and community proof carrying the scroll.
The redesign wasn’t cosmetic; it was conversion architecture. Every section exists to answer the one question a $379 considered purchase raises: will I actually use this? The exercise database, the WOD app screens, the “see it in action” reel of real customers - that’s the answer, sequenced.
Running the paid engine
I lead the paid advertising team - creative direction, campaign structure, offer and audience testing across Meta and Google, and the seasonal calendar (Black Friday pushes, new-collateral drops, event tie-ins). The operating rhythm: a monthly batch of fresh ad creative cut from our own shoots, tested fast, scaled when it earns it.
The AI enablement layer
Here’s the force multiplier - and the part that maps to every client I advise. Three people cannot manually run a daily social presence, a paid creative pipeline, lifecycle email, and customer ops. So I built the layer that does it with them:
- A daily social publishing system - content planned, produced, and scheduled in batches, flowing out every single day without anyone touching it at 7am
- AI-assisted content production that turns shoot footage and product photography into a recurring stream of posts, ads, and email creative
- Automated B2C workflows for lifecycle email and repetitive customer operations
The result is structural: the marginal cost of showing up every day went to nearly zero, and the team’s human hours go where humans matter - product, events, community.
Beyond the feed
Growth for a physical product can’t live only in the ad account. We built the brand into the real world: Spartan race event activations putting boards in athletes’ hands, a product photography system feeding the content engine, retail and pamphlet collateral, and a companion training app - exercise library, guided WODs, settings-synced workouts - that turns a board purchase into a training platform subscription relationship.
Results
- Scaled to $80K in monthly revenue with a three-person team
- Ground-up Shopify storefront redesign shipped and converting
- Daily automated social publishing and an AI-assisted creative pipeline in production
- Paid media engine with a repeatable monthly creative cadence
- Event, app, and retail programs extending the brand past e-commerce
The journey
2025
Retained as growth lead
A three-person team with a patented product - the Korboard, a full-body training board with 100+ exercises - and no bandwidth. The mandate: own strategy and execution across everything customer-facing.
Phase 1
Rebuild the storefront
The old site didn't sell the product's physicality. I redesigned korboard.com ground-up: dark, product-forward, conversion-focused - configure-and-buy above the fold, social proof and exercise library one scroll down.
Phase 2
Stand up the paid engine
Took over leadership of the paid advertising team: creative direction, offer testing, seasonal pushes like Black Friday, and a collateral pipeline that keeps ad creative fresh monthly.
Phase 3
The AI content layer
Built the automation that changed the economics: a daily social publishing system, AI-assisted content production from shoot footage, and B2C workflows that run without headcount.
Phase 4
Beyond the feed
Real-world brand building - Spartan race event activations, product photography systems, a companion training app with WODs and an exercise library, and retail collateral.
Now
$80K months
A three-person consumer brand operating with the output of a company ten times its size, growing on a repeatable engine.
